The Athos Fireplace is a stunning combination of naturalistic romance and classical reason. A scalloped rectangle and diamond pattern adorn the heavier side columns while contrasting and supporting the graceful floral carvings on the mantle. The fireplace is crafted out of Verona Marble, often quarried from the foothills of the Alps in Northern Italy. Verona Marble has been highly prized through the ages and was used by Romans in the construction of the interior of the Pantheon.
